Elementary (K-5) teachers!
Looking for ways to fit science into your full teaching schedule? Let us show you how to simply and efficiently teach ELA and science standards. Fairmont State University is pleased to announce the opening of registration for a 5-day commuter Elementary Earth & Space Science Literacy workshop this summer (June 17-21, 2024, 8:30-4:30). We are looking for representatives for all K-5 levels.
You will receive:
a $600 stipend
lunch every day of the workshop
in-depth instruction on content and activities which integrate science standards
two different set of standards-based elementary science trade books
two developed units to use to teach your science standards
materials to implement the two units
training on NGSS resources
training on writing in science (including the book Writing in Science in Action)
opportunity to collaborate with peers to learn to integrate reading strategies in science
network with leaders at WVDE, Fairmont State University, and NASA IV&V ERC
opportunity to sign up for 3 graduate continuing education credits ($150)
information on low cost dorm room accommodations.
